This is a salt mine with a 700 year-long history. Today, it is still possible to see how salt was mined. The greatest attraction, however, is the underground gallery-museum created by nature and the miners of Wieliczka. Salt crystals of refined shapes, chambers and chapels, salt sculptures, and underground lakes. There is even an underground health spa. The mine was included on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List in 1978.
