Inhabitants of Savaria founded in 43 A.D. enjoyed the same rights as the citizens of Rome. They built a marvellous city from the profits of the Amber Road passing through the town. Two archaeological excavations help us visualise the luxurious life style here. Relics of the forum can be seen in the Garden of Ruins (1-3 Templom Square).
