Jáchymov: An old mining town in the foothills of the Krušné (Ore) Mountains, 650 meters above sea level; a sub-mountain climate of a slightly stimulating character; the water sources are often coupled with rare metal deposits. Geographical location: the Karlovy Vary region.

Natural healing source: thermal radioactive springs with a temperature of 28° C with high levels of rare metals such as cesium, titanium, tantalum, berylium, bismuth, and especially radium, a phenomenon almost unique in the world.

Karlovy Vary (a.k.a. Carlsbad): The largest and most important of the Czech spa towns, with a tradition reaching back to 1358, when King Charles IV had a hunting château built here. Situated 368 meters above sea level; sub-mountain climate.

Natural healing source: Rare sodium-bicarbonate-sulphurous acidulous mineral waters gushing from sources located 2 to 2.5 km below the surface, with temperatures ranging from 41° C to 73° C. The waters contain traces of some forty metals, some of them rare. The waters are used especially for a drinking cure, which constitutes the main element of comprehensive spa care. The spa houses boast modern diagnostic and treatment facilities and furnishings, as well as numerous social and entertainment venues.
